Science Museum Kids Camps

Spring Break is right around the corner and summer is not too far off, either. Science Museum Oklahoma is gearing up for both with eight weeks of camps, kicking off March 12th at Science Museum Oklahoma, themed “Did You Ever?” The eight weeks of inquisitive camps ask questions like “Did you ever trap a lightning bolt?” or “Did you ever make it snow inside?”

“The best parts of our week here at the “Did You Ever?” are moments when a child figures out how science truly works, such as make a pencil levitate, and then experience the look on their parent’s face when that child explains they learned and loved physics today,” said Shannon Sommers, Camps Coordinator, Science Museum Oklahoma. “It’s mega fun, incorporating the scientific methodology of physics, chemistry, biology, and as many other “-ologies” we can fit in there into a week of art, theater, design, dance, and play.  Everyone’s learning and laughing at the same time.”

Science Museum Oklahoma’s eight weeks of “Did You Ever?” camps kicks off with two action-packed weeks of spring break camps March 12th – 16th and March 19th – 23rd followed by six weeks of summer camps June 18th – July 27th. The camps will take place over six weeks, starting June 20, with other week-long camps starting June 27, July 4, July 11, July 18 and July 25. “Did You Ever?” camps take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day and are open to students in first through sixth grade. Admission to summer camps includes a commemorative t-shirt, lunch each day and hands-on science experiments that are sure to keep kids excited and asking for more the entire week!

“Science Museum Oklahoma Spring Break and Summer Camps are a wonderful opportunity for parents to enroll their young scientists with similar-aged children in a learning-conducive environment,” said Darren Ransley, Director of Creativity and Experience, Science Museum Oklahoma. “Dedicated Science Museum Oklahoma staff members have created content and curriculum to keep young minds entertained, active and most importantly open to sharing new experiences.”
