Kim learned the importance of kindness early. She’s blind in her right eye due to a detached retina, and surgery at age 4 left her with a droopy eyelid. She endured teasing because of her appearance. “It wasn’t until college that I realized God loved me exactly the way I was,” she says.
She focuses on loving and accepting others, just as she is loved. “Because I was made fun of and it hurt so much, I’ve made it a point to be conscientious and kind,” she says. “I don’t turn a ‘blind eye’ to the injustices in the world.”
