Shoppes on Broadway

Edmond’s newest retail center is open for business. On the northeast corner of 33rd and Broadway, Edmond now boasts a shopping experience unlike any other in the state. For The Shoppes On Broadway, no detail to enhance the shopping experience was too small, and developer, Tom Parker, made sure nothing
was overlooked.

Since construction began 18 months ago, Parker believes one thing: “It’s rained a lot,” he jokes, “But seriously, I believe that this is one of the most unique shopping environments to come to Edmond in a long time.”

Parker travelled the country studying different kinds of shopping center architecture before settling on the designs for The Shoppes. He began construction with a single goal. “We wanted an architectural design that would stand the test of time,” he says, “Something that wouldn’t become dated, and above all something that is unique to Edmond.”

Upon Completion, The Shoppes will straddle over 160,000 square feet. The new stores include Adora, Bella Strada Salon & Spa Suites, Carl’s Jr., Hobby Lobby, I.O. Metro, Play ‘N’ Trade, Radio Shack, Subway and Tuscan Loggia. Stores coming soon include Nikkellettes Ristorante Featuring Raspberries N'Creme, Larie Marie Boutique, J Spencer's Jewelry & Gifts and Kern's Home Furnishings.

Bella Strada Salon and Spa owners Tina Parker and Toni James have heard great things from clients about their unique salon. “It’s a concept that has not been done a lot in Oklahoma, it is more popular on the east and west coasts. Salon suites and the stylists are actually independent contractors, and lease their own room,” Parker says.

Mirroring an Italian village, Bella Strada is complete with a full spa with lockers, showers and a zen area. There is also a party area available for receptions. “The spa experience is unique to the stylists with their own suites. We looked all over the county and couldn’t find another place it,” Parker says.

McKenzie Ross, owner of Adora, shares the enthusiasm about the new center. “My favorite thing about the new location is the fact that people are excited to shop there,” she says, “It has such a classy appeal and people just want to shop at these stores.”

When she first saw the drawings for the shopping center, she knew it offered something special. “I knew that when we were looking for the best area for our business the Shoppes on Broadway would help us succeed!”

Future expansion is already in the plans. Watch for new shops to be opening soon in Edmond’s newest shopping center.
