Online Exclusive: The House of Hope

Started by the Central Oklahoma Homebuilders Association
(Homebuilders Care) several years ago, The House of Hope fundraising project was not built
for the past few years due to the economy. However, this year it has returned
in grand style.

Completed in September, The 2010 House of Hope is located in
Rosewood Estates in Edmond, Oklahoma at 2813 NW 173rd Street, near NW 173rd and
May Ave.  The home has 4 bedrooms, 2
baths and a 3 car garage with a total of 1,824 square feet.

Authentic Custom Homes volunteered to build the house. “We are really excited about this project. COHBA allowed
us to choose the charity in which to donate all profits to,” said Brandi Woods.

The first $10,000 raised will fund a Christmas party for the
children at Children’s Hospital. “Many members of COHBA
get together to purchase gifts for the children of
Children’s Hospital, as well as their siblings – and the gifts are presented at
the party,” said Woods. “We will also be sponsoring a ski camp in Colorado next
spring. We are hoping to send 30 children to this camp.”

This ski camp was started by Mr. Cavett – who has been a
pastor at Childrens Hospital for several years. “The children who will be able
to attend this ski camp have overcome many obstacles in their life including
illness, blindness, or amputated limbs,” said Woods.

Many companies are donating to this project – including
Kirkpatrick Bank, American Eagle Title, Paradigm Realty, and many more.  “We have had several companies come forward
and donate to this home,” said Woods. “The home has glass vessel bowls as sinks
in each bathroom, fantastic lighting, wood floors, custom cabinets with glass
in the upper portion, a pocket office (which is a new concept that builders are
doing around the country), a barrel ceiling in the entry way, a dome in the
alcove (both the barrel and the dome are painted by a local artist), a walk in
tiled shower in the master bathroom… and these are just some of the extras
inside the home!  It really will be a
home that everyone will have to visit in order to see it all.”

The House of Hope will be open during the Parade of Homes
held October 9th through October 17th. For more information on the Parade of
