Maternity Apparel and Cancer Care

Pickles & Ice Cream

Pickles & Ice Cream Maternity Apparel, located in Spring Creek Plaza at 1450 S. Bryant Ave, has everything you could want from a trendy maternity boutique. Featuring brands like Ripe, Olian, Japanese Weekend and Maternal American, Pickles & Ice Cream offers the very best in maternity wear.

The oldest and largest maternity franchise in the US, they believe you don’t have to sacrifice comfort to remain fashionable during pregnancy. Owner Christin Linch says, “An expecting woman is radiant, beautiful and sexy. She deserves maternity clothing that makes the same statement.” Their store features all the casual and comfortable clothing that moms-to-be need and the latest fashions and trends they crave.

At Pickles & Ice Cream, they understand pregnancy. They are women who have been pregnant, given birth and are now helping the next group of expectant mothers. “We know what you’re going through and we’re here to help,” says Linch. “Our first priority is to provide exceptional customer service by helping expectant mothers find what they need and make sure they leave feeling good about themselves.”

Longtime Edmond residents, Christin and her husband Matt opened Pickles & Ice Cream in March 2008, just eight months after the birth of their daughter. While understanding the dedication required to operate a successful retail store, the couple is more than ready to take on the challenge of raising a family and operating their business. “I love helping moms-to-be. I can fully relate to all the ups and downs that come with pregnancy,” Linch says.

In the future, Pickles & Ice Cream is hoping to offer a selection of classes for expectant mothers in each stage of their pregnancies. “I have found that the more women who come together and share some of their concerns, it is easier to get through pregnancy,” she says.

Open 10–6 Monday-Saturday, Pickles & Ice Cream invites you to stop by and shop around their large selection of maternity apparel, nursing necessities, and gifts. For any further information, please call 348–5800.

Edmond Oncology

Inside the sharp pains associated with hearing the news you have cancer, it is important you understand the very best medicines available today are at Edmond Oncology.

Dr. Carl Bogardus, radiology oncologist since 1964, knows the importance of time when fighting cancer. “The whole key to fighting cancer is finding it early. A lot of times people don’t want to hear they have cancer, so they avoid getting the correct diagnosis,” he says.

He further explains that if you suspect there is something wrong, don’t go see your primary care doctor. Go to a specialist. “It can make all the difference, and that is getting the proper diagnoses in order to begin the proper treatments.”

At Edmond Oncology the equipment is the best available. It allows for any treatment available with modern cancer medicines. By staying up to date on all available treatments, Edmond Oncology understands that if they didn’t, they would be providing sub-standard care. “And that is something that we are not going to do. We work to help the patients and to accommodate people. Our patients are from Guthrie, Stillwater, and many points north. One of our jobs is to accommodate patients and that’s what we are going to do,” Bogardus says.

Some cancers are 100 percent curable. Cancer is not a hopeless disease. Most cancers have a form of treatment. It’s important that if you or someone close to you has been diagnosed with cancer, educate yourself on what is available and what is going to be required for a successful recovery.

Today’s medicines are far superior to those available just a few years ago. “The improvements to cancer medicines have been incredible. The types of treatments we are doing today —five years ago we were only dreaming about them,” Bogardus says.

Edmond Oncology exists with the purpose of curing cancer with the lightest effects on their patients. Another purpose is to introduce patients back to their normal lives.

“The most gratifying thing we do is help people become cancer free and return back into the world having come out of an difficult time in their lives. It is very easy to work with many patients, because I know the majority of them are going to be cured.”

Located at 9 N. Bryant, Edmond Oncology is here to help. Please contact at 271–6500.
