Few career changes are as unexpected as moving from accounting to outdoor recreation, but for Benjamin Mowatt, President of Joy Rails LLC, a memorable family experience inspired an entirely new path. After spending 30 years as an accountant, Mowatt discovered the growing rail cruiser industry during a family vacation in New Hampshire in 2022. What began as a fun outing with his wife and two children quickly became the inspiration for a new business venture. 

Founded in 2023, Joy Rails brings a unique outdoor experience to Oklahoma and beyond through its rail cruiser rides. Guests travel along historic railroad tracks while enjoying scenic views and a relaxing pace that allows them to fully appreciate the surroundings. Unlike many companies that offer traditional rail bikes, Joy Rails has taken a different approach. Every rail cruiser is equipped with an E-Pedal Assist system, transforming the ride into an effortless electric-powered adventure. 

The difference is simple but significant. While many rail bike experiences require constant pedaling, Joy Rails allows riders to sit back, enjoy the scenery, and cruise comfortably along the tracks.
