16th
Annual Children’s Festival May 5th

The City
of Yukon Parks & Recreation Department, will host Yukon’s 16th annual
“Festival of the Child” on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Yukon City Park, 2200 S.
Holly Avenue, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The festival will provide a full day of activities and fun especially designed
for children ages 2 through 13 years old.

Over
50 volunteer groups will be on hand to help celebrate the child.  To date, there are over 60 areas of fun.  For the crafty kids, areas include the Paint
Place, Goofy Glasses, the Painted Turtle, Tissue Paper Fun and many more
crafts!  For the athletic kids, areas
include kayaking, archery, laser tag and hockey.  For the animal lovers, areas include Critter
Tales, reading to dogs, Express Ranch, pony rides and petting zoo.  For the performers, areas include the Art
Stage, storytelling and drama and dress up. 
For the just fun seekers, areas include Sesame Street Playland, Marble
World, a maze, super slide and more! 
These are just a few of the over 60 areas of fun.

Advanced
tickets are now on sale and will continue through Friday, May 4th.  Advance tickets will be $5.00 each for
children.  No tickets are required for
adults.   Tickets will be $7.00 for
children on the day of the event, May 5, 2012. 
Ticket outlets include the Yukon Community Center, Robertson Activity
Center, Jackie Cooper Gym, both Children’s New World locations and Yukon
National Bank.

The
Festival of the Child is presented by the City of Yukon and Children’s New
World.  Additional sponsors include the
Cherie Logan State Farm Insurance Art Stage, the K12, Inc. OK Virtual Charter
Academy Festival Fun Zone.  Also
presenting the festival are:  Yukon
Optimist Sports Club, Red Carpet Full Service Car Wash, Yukon/Mustang Girl
Scouts, OK Talking Hands, Kiwanis Club of Yukon, Thomas & Barbara Rhodes,
Dr. Heather Barnes, First Christian Church, Westpointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge,
QuanTEM Laboratories, LLC and Wal-Mart of Yukon.  The 2012 Festival Friends include:  Integris Canadian Valley Hospital, Spanish
Cove Retirement Village and Bank of Commerce.
