Edmond Touch a Truck Event
Touch-A-Truck is an exciting and educational community event
that gives kids and kids at heart an opportunity for hands-on exploration of
vehicles such as a fire truck, police car, ambulance, cement truck, school bus,
garbage truck and much more. 2012 Edmond
Touch-A-Truck is scheduled for Saturday, May 12th from 9am-1pm at
the University of Central Oklahoma parking lot off of 2nd Street in
Edmond, OK. Admission is a suggested donation
of $3 per person. Last year, over 60
vehicles participated and approximately 3000 area residents attended. Proceeds from Edmond Touch-A-Truck, organized
by MOMS Club of East Edmond, will go to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma,
Food for Kids Backpack Program. Check

The Food for Kids Backpack program of the Regional Food Bank
of Oklahoma began in 2003 as an emergency food assistance program. Children identified by school personnel
receive a nondescript backpack filled with non-perishable, kid friendly food at
no cost to help them through the weekends and school holidays. Food for Kids currently serves 11,000
chronically hungry, elementary age children in 305 elementary schools across
Oklahoma. As a result of Food for Kids,
teachers report better school attendance, improved school performance, better
concentration in the classroom, increased self-esteem and reduced signs of
hunger. Thanks to funds provided by 2011
Edmond Touch-A-Truck, Food For Kids is currently serving 25 Edmond

MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) Club of
East Edmond is a non-profit organization that is a support group for stay at
home moms. We are a group of moms and kids that get together for playgroups and
many activities that include: lunch bunch, move to music, outings to the zoo or
museums, park days, tours and monthly meetings.
We also do service projects throughout the year and Touch-A-Truck is our
