CURBING EDGE
Imagine transforming your drab flower bed into a beautiful custom landscape or creating a flower bed around trees or sidewalks. Chase Dalvine, of the Curbing Edge, turns such dreams into reality for homeowners every day. The Curbing edge can help you create a design that reflects your personality in about a day. Poured onsite, concrete cubing is a continuous piece of concrete installed to provide a distinctive edge without disturbing exiting plants.
The Curbing Edge is an Edmond-based family owned business which has provided it’s services to Edmond and the surrounding areas for five years. And as a distributor for Borderline stamps, Dalvine and his crew are experts at designing and creating a distinctive and colorful look that compliments the appearance of any home.

Dalvine came to the business with ten years of commercial concrete experience and a desire to use his creativity to help people add interest and value to their landscapes.

“We got into the business because we saw the opportunity to do something for people that is unique and dramatically enhances the appearance of existing landscape,” Dalvine said.

Available in 41 different colors and 11 stamp patterns, including a rock and brick design, individuals can customize the look of their curbing. There are many advantages to utilizing concrete edging in a landscape. Concrete edging is an ideal root barrier for Bermuda grass and it is great for mulch containment. In addition, concrete edging does not rust, decompose or move like wood, brick or rock.

In addition to serving the residential community, The Curbing Edge also does work on commercial projects such as the recent 2,000 foot landscape curbing job they completed at Tinker Air Force Base.

When choosing concrete edging, Dalvine advises his clients to select colors that match or compliment their home and to think of their landscape over the long-term by selecting something they can live with for many years. He also encourages clients to keep the design simple and easy to maintain.

The Curbing Edge has thrived by focusing on the needs of its customers, delivering quality workmanship and acting as a consultant to assist others in the industry.

“We strive to provide great customer service and design a curb that is functional and beautiful,” Dalvine said. “We take pride in our work and want our customers to be completely satisfied,” he added.

For those searching for a new look that will add value to their property, enhance the beauty and curb appeal of their yard and give it a finished look, decorative concrete curbing by The Curbing Edge may offer the perfect solution. CHILDREN’S ORCHARD
Tiffany Jaecke spent sixteen years with a locally owned National franchise, before acquiring the Children’s Orchard in August 2005. A graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma, Jaecke’s marketing and management career took a new direction after she became a mother and experienced the challenges of balancing both her family and professional life.

“I wanted to be able maintain a career, while I was entrenched in my children’s lives. The opportunity to purchase Children’s Orchard came along, and I knew it was the perfect fit.” Jaecke explained.

Children’s Orchard is an upscale children’s resale shop with franchises located throughout the country. What makes Children’s Orchard unique is the variety and quality of the merchandise offered.

Jaecke said, “While more and more people are turning to resale shops to clothe their families, customers are also proving to be more savvy and seeking bargains on brand-name items.”

Some of the most popular brand names found at Children’s Orchard include: Gymboree, Ralph Lauren, Polo, Limited Too, Keedo, Biscotti, Gap, Baby LuLu, Cach—Cach, Wills River, and Talbots.

“We are a quality-driven resale store with a specialty feel, a larger inventory, and everyday we buy new merchandise. So, if we don’t have something today, tomorrow we might.” Jaecke added.

Not only does Children’s Orchard carry gently-used clothing, baby furniture, baby accessories, shoes, maternity clothes and toys, they are constantly adding many new items such as Melissa and Doug puzzles and toys, Reflection Dancewear and accessories, Madonna’s English Roses raincoats and new jeans.

“Former customers can’t believe the amount of inventory we have now. And, new customers really can’t believe that we are a resale store, we have to tell most of them,” said Jaecke. “They love the low prices and they are amazed at the brand names they are able to find for a fraction of the price.”

Children’s Orchard has experienced tremendous growth over the past year. Jaecke said while there are many factors that have contributed to the store’s growth, it all boils down to her loyal customers.

For example, much of the store’s success is due to the growth of their Mom’s club, an e-mail network which has grown from 400 members a year ago to nearly 2000 today. Club members receive regular communication about special shopping events, sales and selling opportunities when the store is in need of specific merchandise. “Our customers really help us keep our store full of great merchandise.” Jaecke said.

“We would just like to thank the community for helping us grow our business so that we can constantly provide them with new merchandise, this is attributed not only to those that buy from us, but also the many that sell to us.” Jaecke added.

Jaecke believes that one of the greatest compliments any business can be given is it’s popularity and acceptance in the community. She said that Children’s Orchard recently held a national brand-name event, and her store ranked third nationally in sales.

Back to school shopping around the corner, Jaecke wants to remind mom’s that Children’s Orchard is a great source for quality big name brand fashions with “little bitty prices.”

Children’s Orchard purchases quality clothing, toys and merchandise year-round. For more information on how to sell to Children’s Orchard, please call (405) 748-6294, or stop by the newly remodeled store at Pennsylvania and Memorial.
