New York Philharmonic: A Fantastique Introduction

December 31st, 1969 6:00 PM - October 12th, 2019
The first public performance will include Hector Berlioz’s dream-like work Symphonie fantastique. Additionally, the Philharmonic will perform Jean Sibelius’ abstract Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 47, featuring the super-virtuoso playing of soloist Frank Huang, concertmaster.

New York Philharmonic: How Legends Begin

Joining the Philharmonic on stage to sing her favorite selections from Bernstein is Tony award-winning soprano Kelli O’Hara. Also on the program is the overture to the humorous operetta Candide and Prokofiev’s vivid and exuberant score for Shakespeare’s most often adapted work.

Cirque Mechanics 42Ft

This production, set to original music, is full of theatricality and showcases a galloping mechanical metal horse and a rotating tent frame for strongmen, acrobats and aerialists.

Preservation Hall: Jazz Band

This quintessential New Orleans musical institution guarantees an electrifying night of music. The group will perform songs from their most recent releases as well as traditional New Orleans repertoire. Ugly Sweater Run

The Ugly Sweater Run is a 5k or 1 Mile Walk/Run. The course is at Mitch Park and you will be running or walking through 30 Christmas light displays so it should be quite an experience! The entry fee is $20 and t-shirts will be provided that are long sleeved and look like ugly Christmas sweaters. Registration with a t-shirt cut-off time is November 30, so if you are interested, don’t delay! This is a unique opportunity to help serve enlisted service members through The YMCA Military Welcome Center. The Welcome Center offers a restful and relaxing atmosphere for traveling military members from all branches, active or retired at Will Rogers World Airport. During the Christmas Season, hundreds of soldiers will be returning home & traveling through the Center. We would like to provide the soldiers with goody bags to take on the plane as they travel home to their loved ones.

UCO Alumni Association's Winterfest

Looking for a fun, festive, family-friendly event? Join the UCO Alumni Association as it hosts the second annual Winterfest for Central alumni and friends! Winterfest will be held at Arctic Edge Ice Arena in Edmond on Thursday, Dec. 20 from 7-9 p.m. We will have private access to the west ice rink, also known as the “Broncho Barn.” In addition to ice skating, we will have special guests Buddy Broncho and a few players of the UCO Hockey team, UCO merchandise for sale from Barnes & Noble and complimentary cookies and hot chocolate. We encourage attendees to participate in our festive costume contest at the event. We will have prizes for: cutest costume, tackiest holiday sweater, most Broncho-spirited, best duo and best group.
