2011 Downtown Edmond Arts Festival

Historic Downtown EDMOND.  The Downtown Edmond Business Association will host their 32nd Annual Downtown Edmond Arts Festival Mothers day weekend, May 6, 7, & 8th.  Festival hours are:  Friday/Saturday 10 am. to 8 pm and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm.

Featured will be 118 artist booths from throughout the United States showcasing their finest art. The media includes Oil/Acrylic, Water Color/Pastels, Pen and Ink, Caricature and Photography, Also included are Sculpture, Blown Glass, and Fine Jewelry. 

Londell McKinney of Edmond is the 2011 Celebrity Artist and has been with the festival for the past 6 years.  His quality of photographic art not only expresses the passion he has for his craft, but reveals the true beauty of the landscapes and subjects on film.

The Children’s Area at The Festival Market Place continues to grow by leaps and bounds with extra fun for the kids.  Hands on crafts, face painting, pony rides, a giant slide, moon walk and climbing rock wall.  Several surprise crafts are being planned for our special young guest that will bring out the artist in all of them.

Culinary Arts – Ah! The food you dream about will be presented by 20 plus masters of cuisine for the 3 day event along with several Oklahoma wineries.

Performing Arts – Music on the Plaza with outstanding performing artist continues to be a crowd pleaser. Performing will be Children’s choirs and choruses from Edmond Schools along with the Jazz Bands and show bands of Edmond and festival favorites.  

Concert on the Plaza an “After Hours” concert performed by “Just Diggit” Band

8 pm – 11 pm on the Festival Plaza stage.

Premier Martial Arts Chalk the Walk for children and adults.  This is a new and creative way to express your artistic ability.  Saturday, May 7th only, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the parking lot just north of Simply Southwest on Broadway. 

Arts Festival Charity for this year’s festival is Parents Helping Parents, a non-profit organization that reaches out to parents who believe their children may be using alcohol or drugs.  PHP offers hope through education, resources and shared experience.

No Animals are allowed at Arts Festival     No Coolers allowed at concerts – strictly enforced
