12-year-old Edmond Ballerina Heads to New York

Bigger and better things are happening in the Catania ballet
family. Last July, Edmond Outlook
featured 11-year-old Roma Kathlin Catania in the article “On the Tip of her
Toes
.” Catania attended the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School last summer in
New York for a summer program.

The now 12-year-old Edmond, Oklahoma ballerina has been accepted into
New York City’s School of American Ballet (SAB) for summer dance intensives.

There will be another Catania addition to New York this
summer. Catania’s 10-year-old sister Keziah (Kezi) has been accepted into New
York City’s American Ballet Theater (ABT) for summer dance intensives as well.

Catania will travel to NYC for seven weeks from June 26 to
August 12, while the younger Catania will continue her local training until leaving
for two weeks from August first to August 12.

The SAB is the leading American ballet academy for training
professional classical ballet dancers and is located in Lincoln Center, the
world famous performing arts complex. The ABT has earned the reputation for
being the most thorough and rewarding dance experience a student can have
during the summer.

Edmond Outlook
would like to congratulate the Catania sisters on their acceptance to such
prestigious summer ballet programs. You make Edmond, Oklahoma proud!
