FESTIVAL IN THE PARK TO BENEFIT THE LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA SOCIET
On August 21st, F.A.I.T.H. kids will be hosting the annual Festival in the
Park fund-raising event at Earlywine Park to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society. The day will be filled with fun for all ages-kids and adults alike.
Moon bounces and face painting will be available for the kids all day. The
Thunder girls will make an appearance . There will also be live performers
from local music bands including the recently signed, Aranda and Edmond
musician David McKinney. The event is open and free to the public. Food and
drinks will be available for purchase. The Festival in the Park was inspired by Rylie Faith Tran who was diagnosed
on her 3rd birthday one year. Her father, Long Tran began
F.A.I.T.H. kids to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. "I
feel like it’s my turn to give back to the organization that has helped my
family go through the emotional and financial obstacles of facing this life
changing event," Tran says. In addition to being Rylie’s middle name, the
acronym F.A.I.T.H. stands for Fighting Against Illnesses To Help kids.
F.A.I.T.H. kids will be donating all of the proceeds from the fundraiser to
the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk. The L and L society
has named Rylie as their "Girl of the Year". Each year, in communities all across the United States and Canada teams of
families, friends, co-workers and local and national corporations come
together to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The
Night Walk events and bring help and hope to people battling blood
cancers. Light The Night Walk events are evenings filled with inspiration. During
this leisurely walk, walkers carry illuminated balloons - white for survivors,
red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer - thousands
of walkers - men, women and children - form a community of caring, bringing
light to the dark world of cancer
