Edmond Oklahoma Calendar of Events

Throughout the month of October is the "E" is for Education Exhibit.

Bring your young artist in for paint'n play and ask them to paint a Halloween theme painting, bats, pumpkin, scary monster- they choose. We'll snap a pic of it and post it on facebook. The creator of the winning painting will win a $20 gift card! Two age group categories 1-5 and 6-10

Kids and their parents are invited to walk through the not-so-scary Storybook Forest to collect candy from Storybook characters and see wonderful Storybook scenes. Also available are games, a hayride and a campfire for roasting marshmallows and listening to stories.

UCO teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma for their annual Rock the Block fundraising event. Enjoy live music, food from local vendors and inflatable games and help make 3-year-old Korben's wish to go to Disney World come true.

Pumpkin Carving Workshop - Let's carve pumpkins the old fashioned way! Tools, templates provided. Age 6 and under may attend with adult. RSVP 340-plug or on facebook. We want to make sure we have enough pumpkins! $15 includes one pumpkin. Bring some extra's to carve if you want for no extra charge. Paint'n play admission only $2 for workshop attendees.

Grab a sleeping bag and spend all night exploring the Science Museum of Oklahoma during a "Bright Night of Not so Frightening Fun."

Local, up and coming childrens rock musical artist, featuring a "Halloween Monster Ball" concert with a childrens Costume Contest with prizes.

The merchants of downtown Edmond dress up and give out candy to little ghosts and goblins.

Carnival games, candy, inflatable rides, prizes, face painting and cup cake walk - all free to the public!

All ages are welcome to come have a wickedly awesome time on Halloween Night! For $5, you can come dressed in your best Halloween costume for 2 pieces of pizza, a drink, popcorn, a movie ("Nightmare Before Christmas"), a box of candy, and a Costume Contest! And of course. . .fun!!! We love Halloween and we wanted to share the evening with our students and friends!

At the Edmond Library, 13-17 Edmond Teens in middle and high school, who enjoy playing Chess or would like to learn more about this game are invited to come and join. Organized by a local parent and coach. Boards will be provided and is free to participate.

The University of Central Oklahoma will host Mark Elam, an international advocate against human trafficking, for a free, open-to-the-public presentation titled "Child Sexual Trafficking in Oklahoma." The presentation will be held in the Pegasus Theatre located in Central's Liberal Arts building.
